Apart from the solo-repertoires of the romantic and classical period, Stefan Dohr’s passion is centered on works from the present e.g. composed by Gyorgy Ligeti Oliver Knussen and Volker David Kirchner. In March 2008, he performed an orchestral horn work that was the first in the world specifically written for him by Austrian composer Herbert Willi.

His appearances as a highly sought-after chamber musician span a variety of ensembles with his philharmonic friends as well as performances with collaborators like Maurizio Pollini Lars Vogt, Kolja Blacher, Ian Bostridge. In addition, the musician is a regular participant in the Ensemble Wien Berlin. The group has celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008 by performing a number of concerts.
